"This was a change of career for me. I had gone to college to study beauty and complementary therapies, so working with children and young adults was very different.
As the months went on I enjoyed every aspect of the job role, building relationships with the children too.
After a year, I felt ready to challenge myself even more, so I applied for a Senior Support Worker role. The Sheiling Ringwood has many ways to support people and help them achieve their aims. There are many different career paths to follow within the school - it's finding what suits you best. You are given the opportunity to complete NVQs and further career training.
I enjoy all aspects of my job, I enjoy supporting the children and teaching them new skills which they will remember throughout their lives. I also enjoy having lots of fun with the children, they always make you smile and laugh, they teach us as much as we teach them.
The Sheiling Ringwood is a big family community, we are all there to support the children and young people but also each other as a team.
I never thought that I could enjoy a job as much as I do being employed by The Sheiling Ringwood, I can honestly say I love my job."
